Day 5 Our 4th Day at sea

So this being our 4th day at sea we are getting used to taking things very easy as there is no rush to do annything on these sea days

Day 5 and yes we are at sea

Having woken up another hour earlier and still not quite adjusted to the time zone, we decided to head down to the restaurant for an early breakfast. Today was my weekly blowout fry-up. I absolutely love them, but I try my best to limit myself to just one a week when cruising.

It was lovely and quiet in the restaurant and the breakfast was amazing, which of course makes sticking to that “once a week” rule slightly more difficult!

Afterwards we popped back to the room to freshen up before heading up to Deck 12, the sun deck. It was nice and warm, although not particularly sunny. Lorna went off for her exercise walk around the walking track, while I took the more traditional cruising approach and sat on a sunbed waiting for the calories to drop off naturally. I read somewhere that you lose 60 calories every hour doing nothing, so I plan to lose at least 200 doing exactly that.

Lorna returned just in time as it suddenly started raining quite heavily. Perfect timing! We sat it out under cover and waited for it to pass, which thankfully it did fairly quickly.

When the sun came out again it was lovely and warm. No doubt there were plenty of activities going on around the ship, but on sea days we much prefer to just relax and laze about.

We persevered through the on-and-off weather until around 11:30 when the sun finally came out and stayed out. Suddenly the deck became busy and the sunbeds quickly filled with happy guests.

On our way to lunch we bumped into LeAnne, who has been on the ship since Miami and has been blogging the trip and posting on Facebook and other social networks. We had a good chat about our various tech issues, and she mentioned that she runs a class onboard teaching Apple users how to use iMovie. She asked if I could attend. I said I might be able to help a little — although I use Premiere Pro — but I’d be happy to attend and share a few tips and tricks the next time she runs the class.

We went to Waves for lunch and, for the first time, sat outside at the back for a light meal. It was lovely to enjoy the warmth while eating.

After lunch we headed back on deck and managed to get the same sunbeds again despite not saving them earlier. Lorna was happy getting some sunbathing in, while I was equally happy having a nap and doing a little work on the blog.

Tonight Andrew Grose is performing a matinee show at 5:15, but first we had a sneaky cocktail in Martinis bar where we met Rob and Sheary who apparently play pickleball and we mentioned we play Padel but wanted to learn so they kindly offered to teach us tomorrow. We love how this sort of thing always happens on cruises so tomorrow we will be up on deck ready for a lesson weather permitting. We went to the show which was completely full and like last time he was great. We laughed for 45 minutes and walked out very happy to have seen him again.
We then headed up to Horizons for a pre dinner drink before our evening meal in the main dinning room which was really nice as expected.
Oceania has a claim that they are the Best Cuisine At Sea and to be honest its a bold claim but we both think the food is very good so far so maybe they are, a few more months will be the test for us to determine if that is in fact true.
